Jesus Work Ministry Founder

About Eric Isaiah Gondwe
Facebook: facebook.com/EricGondwe
Email:

Dr. Eric Gondwe is the founder of Jesus Work Ministry, a primarily web based Christian resource and outreach ministry. It was established in July 2004, in Cambridge (Boston), Massachusetts. The Ministry operates various websites which have been divided into: 1) Frontline ministry avenues, and 2) Indirect ministry avenues.

Jesus Work Ministry is a Christian resource ministry, deliverance ministry and faith-based humanitarian advocacy ministry. Most resources center on spiritual growth, Christian living principles, spiritual warfare and deliverance principles.

Gondwe is a born again and ordained evangelical minister, with a calling in deliverance ministry. He is also a professional writer, web developer, and a consultant in information technology (IT) and management (including non-profit management).

He was born in 1974 in Lundazi, a small town and village in eastern Zambia, Africa, from a devoted Christian family. Zambia is over 80% Christian. His family recognize their Christian faith as their single source for escaping the poverty cycle. He remains a strong advocate for faith-based humanitarianism and self-empowerment.

Education
From the secular academic world Eric Gondwe has an undergraduate degree in mass communication, print media concentration, from University of Zambia (Lusaka, Zambia).

His graduate program was an MBA, IT and marketing concentration, from United States International University ((USIU) Nairobi, Kenya). His second graduate program was in management, IT concentration, at Harvard University (Cambridge (in Boston), USA). He has a number of certificates in theology and in various disciplines. Gondwe received an honorary doctorate in divinity from World Christianship ministries based in California, USA.

His primary (junior) school was first at Kamwala Primary School, then Olympia Primary School, in Lusaka, Zambia, and lastly Maamba Private School in Southern Province, Zambia (various schools due to relocation reasons). He attended Peterhouse School in Zimbabwe for his secondary (high) school.

The Calling
The calling to front-line ministry came directly from God. In other words he did not announce it through fellow believers, through a church, or circumstances. On Sep. 9, 2003, soon after completing a 40 day fast God announced the calling to ministry. The fast was inspired by his personal and family matters that had little to do with ministry. Yet God had other things in mind to use it for.

For many serving in the body of Christ the ministry calling usually comes in unexpected ways and sometimes in unexpected areas as well. In his case the unexpected was serving in front-line ministry, given his secular training. Added to the unexpected was the calling in deliverance ministry.

Deliverance ministry is an area of ministry that abounds with harmful demon-centered teachings. Such teachings that are obsessed with demons are due to misinterpreted scriptures - mostly unintentionally.

This is the opposite with Christ-centered principles on deliverance. Their focus is on God and Christ’s redemptive work on the cross. Gondwe is among evangelicals upholding the Christ-centered principles that have triumphed over evil throughout church history –over 2000 years. These Christ-centered principles for victorious Christian living are covered in his 12 books, and also at Jesus Work’s interlinked websites. They include prayer and fasting, walking in obedience to God, seeking and learning the truth on needed areas of breakthrough, and so on.

Guiding Principles and Nature of Jesus Work Ministry
Eric Gondwe’s personal mission statement is: “Applying the Christian purpose in all areas of life.”

Fulfilling this mission requires applying one’s identity and priorities in the following order:
1. Christian (faith, primary purpose, identity & allegiance)
2. Faith-based humanitarian (welfare & empowerment with God as the source of deliverance)
3. Steward (service through skills, gifts, & profession (calling))
4. Zambian (secular lineage & identity)

Notice that the secular is the least level of priorities. This doesn’t make it irrelevant or objectionable to a Christian. It only means that responsibilities in each lower level have to align or at least not contradict the primary purpose (Christianity). Thus positive responsibilities can be fulfilled at each level without compromising or contradicting the primary purpose.

One way to  illustrate this is by looking at Mother Teresa’s statement. It encompasses all four aspects above and puts her Christian faith above everything else. She said, “By blood and origin I am Albanian. My citizenship is Indian. I am a Catholic nun. As to my calling, I belong to the whole world. As to my heart, I belong entirely to the heart of Jesus.”

Another way of illustrating the four priorities above, in their order, is by looking at how Jesus Work Ministry is structured in its responsibilities.

Jesus Work Ministry is separated into two main sections: 1) frontline or primary ministry, and 2) indirect or secondary ministry.

Frontline ministry deals directly with Christian responsibilities that people can easily see as Christian based. For example, JesusWork.com is plainly a Christian based website and has purposely Christian content.

Indirect ministry is just the opposite. It deals indirectly with Christian responsibilities that people cannot label as Christian motivated. For example, Zambian.com is a website on Zambia, Africa, not on Christianity. Its primary content is on Zambia, not on Christianity. The noble content on Zambia either aligns or does not contradict with the primary purpose (Christianity).

In addition the primary purpose is also fulfilled even if Zambian.com seems like a strictly secular setting. The primary purpose is fulfilled through indirect ministry, mainly by having prominent links to Christianity and Christian content. There are not many websites on secular matters that include Christianity on their menu.

Jesus Work Ministry has endeavored to include as many cues or pointers to the Christian faith as possible –without seeming too obvious that it’s our primary purpose. Were we have been too obvious is on humanitarian work. The importance of helping humanitarian causes in Zambia and worldwide is well emphasized. All our allied Christian networks follow this pattern.

Thus noble responsibilities can be fulfilled at each level of the Christian hierarchy of priorities (given above) without compromising or contradicting the primary purpose (Christianity). The two sections [1) frontline ministry and 2) indirect ministry] that Jesus Work Ministry serves in work in indispensable ways.

The sustained growth in outreach through frontline ministry websites is helped by growth in the indirect ministry websites. This is because the indirect ministry websites have links to the frontline ministry websites. It is therefore a blessing to minister to people who visit secular websites (indirect ministry websites). The indirect ministry websites are like locating people in their secular settings and then sharing the gospel with them. It is going to the streets and marketplace, only that in this case it’s the online streets and marketplace.

Not only do indirect ministry websites serve as doorways to share the gospel and Christian principles they also serve as doorways to humanitarian service. As stated earlier, the humanitarian purpose is clear and we deliberately emphasize it.

Great is the harvest in the Lord’s harvest field. It’s a blessing to be part of the work and the work of equipping fellow believers in the body of Christ.

We receive income through advertising clicks on ads displayed on most websites. However this is the byproduct or secondary objective in our Christian work. That’s why it’s not being given a lot of attention here. We also have various other funding ventures which include an Amazon.com affiliate store, sales from books published, and so on. God has been faithful in ensuring that every harvest field laborer  “deserves his support (his living),” Matthew 10:10 (Amplified Bible).

Below is a table showing Jesus Work Ministry’s twofold online ministry: 1) frontline ministry, and 2) indirect ministry. The given websites below are only a partial number since we keep acquiring websites – all for the primary Christian purpose. Many are also still under construction, acquired to secure the domain names.

For example, Zambian.com was bought for US$2,000 in 2005 and there was no hesitation since it offered indirect ministry outreach potential to an entire country. (It’s also Eric Gondwe’s secular motherland so that too played a rolesmiley-face-01). Please visit  WebDevelopmentCareer.com for latest updates on Jesus Work Ministry’s growing outreach (note that some of the websites listed at  WebDevelopmentCareer.com do not belong to Jesus Work Ministry).

It is our prayer that Jesus Work Ministry continues to grow in its outreach. We also pray that the growth rate continues its rapid momentum. Our evangelical and humanitarian based work is a mere drop in the ocean. Yet every drop counts in the ocean that the bible calls the harvest field.

We humbly commend you to do your part in this immense work, either as a direct ministry partner or indirectly, as a co-worker in Christ. Even when what you have may be a mere myspace, facebook, or any personal profile site you can still make it Christ-centered. There is no sincere labor that is irrelevant for the sake of Christ. Send us your Christ-centered and/or humanitarian based work and we’ll be more than delighted to link you. We pray you’ll do the same.

Eric Gondwe’s Appeal to Fellow Radical Evangelicals

1. Keeping the zeal for Christ.
“Please keep up the zeal for Christ. At no other time in our lifetime is security in Christ our most certain foundation. All other foundations are experiencing immeasurable uncertainty. There is no guarantee in having security in them. It is an age of uncertainty. Almost no form of material investment has the sure guarantees that past patterns provided. Not even gold.

In fact the bible says gold will be worthless at some point as a store of value or as any form of investment. “They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will be like refuse; Their silver and their gold will not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord,” Ezekiel 7:19.

If you have seen gold bars and coins (or fortunate to have gold bank deposits) you’d almost refute the above scripture. But you’d probably agree based on behind the scenes attempts of making microchips implantable in people to replace currency and other physical monetary transactions. This includes historically precious metals like silver and gold as investments and store of value (primarily as an inflation hedge). Thus every passing decade our most certain foundation is increasingly in our Christian faith alone.

2. Wisdom being the guiding compass, not presumption
Above zeal for Christ add wisdom. In some evangelical circles it’s almost a crime to think. So Christians switch off their brains, letting their pastors spiritually baby-sit them and thus hindering themselves from growing up to bear fruit.

The mind is our greatest God given asset while still here on this earth. The bible says we have “the mind of Christ,” 1 Corinthians 2:16, controlled by the Spirit of God. Endeavor to maximize its use, just like some in the secular world maximize their skills with great results.

Understanding matters instead of feeling them will save you a lot of trouble. Not that there won’t be any trouble (eg. trials, persecution, etc) but that you’ll avoid the kind of trouble that comes through ignorance. “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge,” Hosea 4:6. God forbid that any of us fit into such a category.

“A mind is a terrible thing to waste,” says the United Negro College Fund slogan. It should be the Christian slogan too!!!!!

Galileo Galilei is quoted saying, “I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use.” How true.

The bible says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth,” 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV).

This is not an easy scriptural admonition to follow. Studying requires inner effort and interest to know the truth on scriptural and other worthy matters. It’s harder than showing up at every church service (as worthy as this is). Only a few cross the boundary that separates studying from being a pain to being a joy.

Those who cross this boundary do so not because they’re naturally wired to be intellectuals but because after consistent practice studying became a habit. Most things done out of habit bring a sense of pleasure. Being studious: what a worthy habit to seek. Here is a quote on habits and character:

Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny – unknown author

Some may say it’s a lil too late to start forming a studious habit. Maybe it’s harder for some at every advancing age. But it doesn’t mean it’s impossible. In addition our era of increased technology affords us access to various material to learn through. There’s popular quote that says: “In the age of information, ignorance is a choice,” unknown author.

There are now audio bibles, audio books, and audio sermons; DVD bibles, DVD books, and DVD sermons; software to convert text into audio known as text-to-speech (TTS) engines (like TextAloud Software (see NextUp.com) and freely downloadable Microsoft Windows Speech Recognition (pre-installed in operating systems after Windows XP, while an optional download for earlier operating systems).

There are portable audio and video players; for limited time free documentaries to watch online (and download if you wish -particularly at GoogleVideo.com (search for needed info like “prophecy,” “Antichrist,” “population control,” “New World Order,” etc); free books online (see Jesus Work’s main  website: JesusWork.com); other freely available internet resources; and so on. Instead of using these advancements for entertainment let us use them for the glory of God and equipping ourselves in these end-times.

Entertainment for Christians and all truth seekers ought not to be in amusement parks and other matters that are merely an escape from reality. It ought to be in gaining understanding of reality. However the cultural system of our times has been framed to make such pursuits as boring and not worthy of being called entertainment. Thus only a few, even among Christians, have any passion and love for endeavors of better understanding of reality.

Our cultural setting is therefore not working to our interest. It is working to our interest to the interests of those who have matters to hide on what really is going on behind scenes. The people who’re busy working on the New World Order (Antichrist Order) are throwing as much distractions at the masses in order to hide their schemes from being known. Not knowing what they’re doing does not mean their schemes have no consequence. Ayn Rand once said, “You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality.” How true.

At no other time in Christian history compared to our times has it been this essential to walk in understanding -understanding on spiritual matters, on church infiltration by impostors, on New World Order schemes, on social programming matters, on economic trends and manipulations, on physical health and population control programs, and so on. It is a time of mass deception, mass socioeconomic control, and the early stages for the rise of the Antichrist. Those who lack knowledge in essential areas will be victims to the worst extent. “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge,” Hosea 4:6. God forbid that any of us fit into such a category.

Here are some biblical quotes and people quotes on wisdom:
* “Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding,” Proverbs 4:7 (NIV).
* “A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels,” Proverbs 1:5 (KJV).
* “Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold,” Proverbs 3:13-14 (NIV).
* “If you hold to my teaching... you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free,” John 8:31-32.
* “Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who KNOW their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits,” Daniel 11:32 (NKJV).
* “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge,” Hosea 4:6.
* “Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity,”  Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968).
* “Try to learn something about everything and everything about something,” Thomas Henry Huxley (1825-1895).
* “It is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion (like most entertainment), however satisfying and reassuring,” Carl Sagan (1934-1996).

3. Adding patience and endurance
In combination with wisdom add patience and endurance. You’ve one lifelong battle to face until God calls you into glory. Being a true Christian is not easy spiritually, socially, materially, and for some, even physically. Your salvation and matters God has purposed to fulfill through you automatically invite hell's opposition.

However with an understanding that it is not your battle but God’s takes the unnecessary stress from it. God will fight your battles one after another as you continue seeking his intervention –and doing your part of using the mind of Christ to see the victorious way out. Some battles he’ll intervene in astounding ways while others wear off with time.

“For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God,”  Acts 5:38-39.

The prophets, apostles and other children of God in the Bible are an example. In spite of all hell's opposition they prevailed. No entity can win fighting against God.

"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus,” Philippians 1:6.

4. Maintaining the right perspective on required sacrifices
Last but not least nor complete is having the right perspective on required sacrifices for fulfilling your calling. The right perspective on required sacrifices enables us to be more willing to put aside various needs seeking fulfillment in our lives. Without the willingness we would continue satisfying needs that may not be sinful but are hindrances to fulfilling more important matters.

If you’re not certain on the unique sacrifices required to fulfill your calling you can start by following people you admire. There’s someone each of us can identify with in whatever area of calling –whether from the bible or in recent memory. I’ve many heroes that include my mother, brother, sister, wise Apostle Paul, and Mother Teresa.

Some fellow evangelicals look down on Mother Teresa because she was a Roman Catholic member, and because of this and that. It’s like a blank judgment on her without even caring to bear in mind what God allowed to mold her, her background, and so on.

In recent memory there is not one evangelical that can equal the sacrifices Mother Teresa made to fulfill her calling. She gave everything, not some money, some personal valuables, some leisure or family time, some conveniences, some appetites, some skills, some status, or anything partially. A person that can surpass all that she sacrificed out of LOVE for God and fellow humanity will be worthy to cast the first stone.

You’d have to be super, super, super radical to give everything up for a higher calling. In her early years of ministry she had no income and thus resorted to begging for food. Mother Teresa experienced doubt, loneliness and the temptation to return to the comfort of convent life as a Loreto nun. She wrote in her diary:

“Our Lord wants me to be a free nun covered with the poverty of the cross. Today I learned a good lesson. The poverty of the poor must be so hard for them. While looking for a home I walked and walked till my arms and legs ached.

“I thought how much they must ache in body and soul, looking for a home, food and health. Then the comfort of Loreto (her former order) came to tempt me. 'You have only to say the word and all that will be yours again,' the Tempter kept on saying ... Of free choice, my God, and out of love for you, I desire to remain and do whatever be your Holy will in my regard. I did not let a single tear come.”

What a person!! Surely when a trial comes its perceived intensity would weaken by reflecting on how much people, like Mother Teresa, endured and sacrificed in fulfilling their call.

Mother Teresa once said, “I do not pray for success, I ask for faithfulness.” How true. This is because success of whatever nature (spiritual, social, material, etc) comes through consistent discipline or faithfulness in making required sacrifices.

Praying for the grace to have consistent discipline or faithfulness in making required sacrifices are prayers God hears. He’ll keep adding to the one who’s faithful in fulfilling his/her required role in the area of concern. History bears witness to this, so does the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30) - so does the life testimony of Mother Teresa.

“Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things,” Matthew 25:23.

In closing here are lyrics from a wonderful song by Hosanna Music. It is titled “We'll be faithful.” You can listen to the song at our Youtube account on this link: We'll be faithful, by Hosanna Music.

Forgetting what lies behind
Setting our hearts on the prize
Always keeping our eyes on our Lord Jesus

We're running the race to win
All the way to the end
Laying down every sin that would seek to hinder us

And we'll be faithful to our calling
For you are able to keep us from falling
For in your promise, we will trust
We'll be faithful to finish
The work You began in us.

Forgetting what lies behind
Setting our hearts on the prize
Always keeping our eyes on our Lord Jesus

We're running the race to win
All the way to the end
Laying down every sin that would seek to hinder us

And we'll be faithful to our calling
For you are able to keep us from falling
For in your promise, we will trust
We'll be faithful to finish
The work You began in us.
